Opening of the laboratory
The employees of the Ural Power Engineering Institute won the state order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russian Federation for the creation and financial support of a new youth laboratory in the direction of "New Energy" for the period of 3 years.
The laboratory of "Digital Twins in the Electric Power Industry" will be opened in the Ural Power Engineering Institute under the guidance of A.I. Khalyasmaa, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Department. The laboratory will be made up of young researchers, mainly under the age of 39. Currently, one of the directions of the development of the electric power industry is increasing the efficiency of management of the electric power systems through the application of the intelligent models.
The laboratory will develop an intelligent multi-agent system for modelling deeply integrated technological systems in power industry. The results of the work of this laboratory will be integrated into the educational process of two master programmes “Artificial intelligence for power industry applications" and "Energy for smart cities" of Ural Power Engineering Institute, the laboratory-technicians will give lectures and conduct internships with students.
